Walking Changes Things
Books rooted in Scotland's landscapes, Celtic tradition, and the transformative power of the long road.

About Jamie
Jamie Wallace is a writer, coach and walker based in Argyll. His books follow people — sometimes fictional, sometimes himself — through landscapes that ask something of them. The Camino de Santiago. The Whithorn Way. The West Highland Way. A tenement flat in Glasgow open to the world.
These are not travel books. They are books about what happens when you keep walking long enough that something shifts.

Featured Titles
All of Jamie's books follow a thread: walking as the thing that makes the other things possible. Each book is rooted in a specific landscape and a specific question.
The Way That Loved Me Back:
(Callum Jackson Adventure Series — Book 1)
The walk this road was preparing him for. Callum Jackson sets out to walk the Camino de Santiago in search of meaning, healing, and something he can't yet name. With Gran's blessing, old wounds begin to soften, a slow-burning romance unfolds, and the road itself begins to feel alive. This is where the pebble gets placed.

The Long Walk to the White House: A Pilgrimage on the Whithorn Way
(Callum Jackson Adventure Series — Book 3)
Before the Camino, there was the Whithorn Way. Years before Spain, Callum Jackson sets out from his own front door to walk 155 miles across southwest Scotland to Whithorn — the shining white house of stone where Saint Ninian built Britain's first church, and where Robert the Bruce made his last pilgrimage. A storm turns him back. A pandemic closes the road. It takes him four years to finish — and somewhere in the returning, the walk stops being practice and becomes the thing itself. This is where the pebble is lifted.

The Glasgow Kiss:
A Christmas to Remember
(Pre-Order)
(Callum Jackson Adventure Series — Book 2)
Seven years after the Camino. Callum is living in Oban, his book newly published, his heart quietly rebuilt. A Christmas break in Glasgow. A message from a stranger. A kiss on a bridge in the dark. The Glasgow Kiss is a story about what happens to a person who has learned to walk difficult roads—when the next threshold turns out to be an ordinary hotel bar on the longest night of the year.

The Way Back to Yourself:
A Path Through Crossroads
A Practical Guide For When You Are Stuck At Crossroads
The Callum Jackson books follow the outer journey — the roads walked, the miles endured, the arrivals. The Way Back to Yourself follows the inner one. A practical and deeply personal guide for anyone standing at a crossroads, written by the same author who walked 500 miles across Spain and took four years to finish a Scottish pilgrimage — not because the road was too long, but because the timing had to be right. Six stages of transformation. One honest companion for the journey.
